Stainless Steel Casters

Stainless steel casters are specified where the fork itself must survive corrosion: food processing, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, marine and chemical environments where powder-coated steel would pit, flake or fail hygiene inspection. The line on this page combines stainless forks with TPR and TPU wheels in 3 to 5 inch sizes, rated 100kg to 130kg per wheel, in swivel and rigid with top plate or threaded stem mounting.

The selection starts from the environment rather than the load. In a washdown area the fork finish must resist acid and alkaline detergents and high-pressure water; in a marine or coastal setting it must resist salt spray over the life of the equipment. Stainless forks meet both requirements without coatings, which also means nothing can flake off into product or into a cleanroom. The wheel compounds, TPR and TPU, are chosen for the floor: TPR for quiet roll on resin and epoxy, TPU where abrasion resistance matters.

Loads in stainless applications are moderate: trolleys, racks and tables in food and pharma typically carry 100-400kg total, so the 3-5 inch casters rated 100-130kg per wheel cover the standard fit. Apply the usual rule: maximum loaded weight divided by four, times 2.5 safety factor for swivel casters on hard floors. A 300kg loaded rack on four casters needs a 188kg rating, which is beyond this line; such a rack should move to the heavy duty range or to a larger stainless wheel if available.

Mounting is split between top plate with 2 or 4 holes and threaded stem M10-M12. Rigid and swivel pairings follow the usual two-and-two pattern; brake versions are available on the larger sizes for trolleys that must hold position at processing stations. Because stainless forks are a material specification rather than a coating, the finish is uniform across the line and does not wear through.

Where a project needs a stainless variant of a standard design, we quote the closest stainless fork in the line; where the geometry is custom, the stainless fork is machined from our standard stock sections.
